I wanted to take a few minutes to stop and tell you about the wonderful care I was given by one of your extraordinarily hardworking members, "Scoop" Cox.
I live in Los Angeles, and was looking to retire to the Seattle area in about seven years. I used your web site to search for properties. Originally, I was thinking of the eastern area and so found myself communicating with Scoop.
I came up at the end of July and spent a few days investigating the many listings I had compiled. It turned out that Bainbridge Island suited my needs, and I eventually found a house there, a considerable and inconvenient distance from Issaquah.
Being new to the area and living a thousand miles away, there were many things to be discussed and handled. It was critical that I work with someone who was both very good with complex details and could also communicate clearly and quickly. Scoop made me feel completely comfortable and confident from the very start and continued to stay 150% on the job until the very end (taking care of many things that were not really his responsibility.) While consummately professional, I was also able to relax and enjoy the man's warm and friendly personality. The two days we drove around were not just informative; they were fun, and I felt I had met a friend.
I've bought a house before, and it's very easy to be taken advantage of by an agent who, ultimately, just wants to make a sale. Scoop held the higher ground of wanting to take care of me instead. When he said that selling a house is not just a matter of making a sale, but that it's also about helping people find what will make them happy, I gratefully believed him.
We just closed the deal. Presently, I'm working with Mike Denton in your property management department to rent the place. If Mike can do half of what Scoop did, I'll be extremely pleased.
I could have sent this letter electronically, but I wanted it known in the most concrete terms how great an asset your company has in the person of Scoop Cox. I've been passing around his card and recommending your web site to fellow teachers here in Southern California who are considering a move to the Seattle area. Regardless of where they might wish to locate, I am strongly suggesting they use Scoop. He more than goes the extra distance; he does it brilliantly!

This letter should serve as a big THANK YOU and a letter of recommendation. I wanted to extend to you my appreciation for the fabulous way you handled every aspect of the sale of our house.
When you first came to meet with us, you impressed me with your level of preparedness for our initial meeting. Your comparables evaluation was very thorough and helped us to price the house correctly. Other realtors with whom we spoke, valued the house at $10,000 less and yet we had no trouble selling the house within 1% of your recommended asking price. This was impressive, especially since we received the offer within 6 short days of putting the house on the market.
You were extremely helpful in the area of making suggestions concerning the things we needed to do to prepare the house for sale. You recommended only things that were necessary to make the house attractive for sale and gave sound advice concerning repairs that would not enhance our ability to sell the home.
You were also very organized in arranging the open houses. This planning on your part allowed us to plan our time and left us feeling that our need for privacy was also considered.
During the offer negotiations you were always prepared with excellent advise. I really trusted your judgement. In several areas you provided us with advice that saved us several thousand dollars in options that we might not have understood to be available to us.
